“Don’t put anything on your skin you wouldn’t want to eat”…
When you buy natural, you expect it to mean natural. The word natural gets used frequently in skincare, and although people are becoming more aware of the ingredients in their skincare products, there is still a number of grey areas as to what constitutes a natural ingredient.
The cosmetic industry uses a term known as ‘green washing’ to sell their products. Green washing is when a company promotes green-based (pure/natural/organic) products and initiatives but actually operates in an opposite manner. This includes misleading customers on the natural benefits of a product through misleading advertising and unsubstantiated claims.
Nature alone offers an abundance of wholesome, beneficial ingredients that have been utilised by people for centuries. I add natural scent to everything I make using essential oils, and do not use artificial fragrances, flavour oils or colourings. Preservatives that are used (in water based products) are from natural plant extracts. All my ingredients are sourced from reputable suppliers that provide raw materials and ingredients of a consistently high quality which is sustainably harvested, locally grown and organically certified where possible.
All products are handmade and are made to order.
