ATHANASIA - n. (ath-ana-see-ah) 1. Immortality, endless life.
I’ve always enjoyed buying skincare and cosmetic products, easily lured in by the clever marketing and pretty packaging; never giving a thought to what I was actually putting on my skin. After a few years of becoming frustrated from trying an array of skincare brands (with none ever giving me the results I hoped for) I started paying attention to ingredient labels, and was shocked at some of the muck I’d been slathering on my skin.
So in 2013, out of curiosity, I decided to enrol in a natural skincare class. I was instantly enamoured with how I could create beautiful, safe and natural products by hand, at home. My creativity evolved to include face care, lip balms, salves and bath salts. After a few years of my hobby evolving, and with the help of willing family and friends to test my creations, my little business continues to grow. I get so much joy from creating all my own products, and have now expanded my range into cold process soaps.
The name Athanasia is Greek for "immortality" and was my Greek grandmother's name, of whom I am named after. Out of a desire to honour my heritage I decided to use this name for my business.
From the beginning I've been passionate about creating quality, natural skincare that is safe and will truly nourish your skin - and as a mum it’s even more important for me to understand ingredients and what I'm putting on my children’s skin.
